Music & Audio Production
Music has the power to shape atmosphere, elevate story and create emotional connection in a way nothing else can. At Rockton Road, music and audio production are approached with the same balance of creative instinct, technical precision and real-world experience that drives every part of the studio’s work.
Original sound built with depth, character and precision
At Rockton Road, music isn’t an add-on — it’s part of how the work connects.
From original composition and scoring through to recording, mixing and audio production, everything is created with a focus on tone, texture and emotional impact.
Based in Los Angeles, the studio blends analogue warmth with a fast, modern workflow — giving artists, brands and filmmakers access to a sound that feels rich, distinctive and built to hold up.
Led by Nic Capelle, the space is designed for both performance and precision — whether producing original music for film and content, recording artists, or shaping audio that elevates the final piece.
Nic is one of a kind, or at least one in literally a million. Every song, production, lyric and performance is immaculately crafted, extraordinarily creative and from the heart.

Our Set-Up
-
A boutique, open-plan studio based in Itasca, just outside Chicago, designed for comfort, creativity and focus. The space offers a private, relaxed environment where artists and collaborators can step away from the noise and do their best work.
-
The studio blends analogue character with modern production flexibility — combining the warmth, depth and unpredictability of classic recording techniques with the speed and efficiency of contemporary digital workflows.
At Rockton Road, technology supports creativity rather than replacing it. The focus is always on capturing authentic performances, emotional connection and sound that feels human, textured and built to last.
-
Built around a hybrid analogue/digital workflow, Rockton Road combines high-end recording hardware, vintage character gear and modern production tools to deliver professional sound with flexibility and speed.
The studio includes a curated collection of microphones, preamps, compressors and instruments from brands including Universal Audio, Neve, Telefunken, Royer, AKG, Sennheiser and Focusrite — alongside classic creative tools such as the Roland Space Echo and Eventide Harmonizer.
From full-band recording and vocal production through to scoring, sound design and final mix, the setup is designed to support both technical precision and creative experimentation.

Our Process
01
Find the sound
Every project starts by understanding the artist, story or atmosphere behind the work. Whether producing original music, scoring for film or developing an artist identity, the focus is always on creating something that feels authentic and emotionally connected.
02
Capture the performance
Rockton Road blends analogue warmth with modern production workflows to capture performances with character, depth and clarity. From recording and arrangement through to composition and sound design, the process stays collaborative, adaptable and creatively driven.
03
Shape the final record
Mixing, mastering and finishing are treated as part of the storytelling process — refining tone, dynamics and emotion so the final piece feels cohesive, immersive and built to hold up across platforms, film, streaming and live environments.
