The Rockton Road Sound
Rockton Road boasts a soul and character that is often hard to recreate in a mainstream studio environment. This boutique, comfy, open plan studio is situated in one of LA's most beautiful areas, Altadena. Looking out to the spectacular
San Gabriel mountains, but with in minutes from the 210 and 110. Drum sounds are one of the most important elements in creating an amazing record. Rockton Road prides itself on amazing drum recordings, as well as capturing a unique sound as a whole, all to its own.
Behind the desk
Engineer Nic Capelle has built a classy, amazing sounding setting where bands, songwriters and solo artists can come create in a comfortable and private environment. Full of warmth and character, this high-end studio boasts top end gear with a gifted engineer at the helm. A hybrid of analogue and digital, Universal Audio is the center piece of Rockton Roads lighting fast workflow.
The perfect hybrid sound
Universal Audio is at the heart of this studio. We have a swag of amazing UAD plugins such as the Studer A800 tape machine emulation, the Ampex ATR-102 tape machine for mastering, the UA 11 76 compressor bundle and much more, you’ll be getting that amazing tape saturated tone for a fraction of the cost.
Retro tones
It’s all about the character and this unique studio has it in spades. Plenty of classic sounds with a great collection of quirky ones too. Roland Space Echo, Eventide Harmonizer, Ampeg B15 Amp, Gibson Scout Amp to name a few.

The Florida Mistakes
Working with such young and talented artists is always a wonderful chance to watch music evolve & expand through the next generation.
With a sound that’s truly original, Rockton Road recorded, mixed and mastered The Florida Mistakes debut album ‘The Florida Mistakes’.
Nic Capelle then joined forces with Breadon Speakman and Cameron Littell to produce, record, mix and master their follow up album ‘Spooked Sexual’. (Featuring Macy Lucarelli on drums) As well as filmed videos for ‘That’s The Way It Goes’ & ‘Spooked Sexual’.
Blunt Rappers
The Blunt Rappers from the 626 represent the life blood of LA rap artistry. In your face with no apology. Rockton Road got the easy job, to capture and represent local talent through documentary film, recording, mixing, mastering tracks, photos and branding. The vision was simple, document

DOL IKARA
Dol Ikara is a visionary artist. Brilliantly conceived from her mind to the guidance of Rockton Roads producer Nic Capelle on her debut album ‘Obsidian Ritual’. Co written by genius song writer/multi instrumentalist Braedon Speakman, and backed by Mad Revivals rhythm section Matt Littell and Macy Lucarelli. One of the tracks “Stone Towers’ is featured on a Peaky Blinders episode 2022.
Rockton Road recorded all tracks and mixed and mastered the lead single ‘White Queen’.

Them Bones
Husband and wife duo ‘Them Bones’, Nic & Natalie Capelle are a Rockton Road creation. The content created included music videos, recording, mix & mastering as well as branded content, logo, photos and music placements. Placements include Cutwater Spirits, Carl’s Jr/Xmen, Netflix Girls Guide to Divorce and playstation.
DREAMING BULL
One of Nic Capelle’s favorite collaborations, ‘Dreaming Bull’ (founded by Gabriel Rowland & Capelle) was in need of simple, powerful brand aesthetics. Rockton Road created music videos, album covers, promos, recordings, mixing and mastering. As a result they’ve landed placements in USA Network ‘Suits’, Honda Golden Wing Commercial, Sears, America’s Funniest Home Video, Verizon, Lays Kettle Chips, Reebok & more. Their song ‘No Use’ featured in both USA Network ‘Suits’ & a Honda commercial garnering them a speedy rise to 2.5 million hits on Spotify.
Deb Morrison
Americana artist Deb Morrison has a one of kind voice and storytelling prowess to conjure a visual feast within your mind.
Rockton Road has shot, edited, recorded, mixed and mastered all of Morrison’s releases over the last 4 years.
Her soon to be released debut album ‘The North Fork’ was recently recorded at Rockton Road in partnership with Chicago’s Harmony House studios. Featuring brothers Tim Bennett (drums) & Jay Bennett (Guitar).

Lays Chips Featuring NFL STAR ‘Marshawn Lynch’
NFL running back Marshawn Lynch has become synonymous with his comic timing and clever new direction for Lays Kettle Cooked Chips campaign. ‘Get Lost In The Crunch’ uses the remixed track ‘Hippie Hobo’ by ‘Dreaming Bull’ (Nic Capelle and Gabriel Rowland).
